Hey, I am a Biochemistry major with a cumulative GPA of 3.63 and a science GPA 3.52. EC wise, I volunteered as an EMT for the past two years and accumulated 300 hours, I was a teaching assistant in a biology lab for 2 semesters, I am currently volunteering for Habitat for Humanity, and I shadowed a doctor for about 40 hours. I am signed up for the MCAT for this April and I am studying pretty hard. Lets say I get a 30-33 on the MCAT, how do I look for applying this June? Is there anything else I should try to squeeze in? Thanks.

It's impossible to tell you how youre looking without an exact MCAT but my guess is you'd be ok if you applied broadly. I wouldn't be surprised if this is moved to WAMC

The only major thing missing is research. You're a little too time limited to start a significant research project tho. Overall, id say you have a good chance of admission as long as you apply broadly and interview well. This will likely be moved to WAMC.

Thanks for the input, opps sorry about posting in the wrong section!

your ECs are solidly strong (though very typical), and a 3.6/3.5 c/s GPA along with a 30+ MCAT should be fine for low/mid tier MDs. make sure you do get at least a 30 on the MCAT and keep up the ECs in the meantime.

I have a chance to be a research associate in a local hospital. It is a volunteer position and I would be gathering data on patients in the emergency room on whatever study is going on. Would this count as research? I am not the one conducting it but I would be interviewing patients and gathering data.
