With all the course load threads popping up and such I just wanted to know; is there a benefit in having a rigorous course-load?

In a quarter system having 15 credits is normal, but if you took 20 credits the whole year would that be looked upon positively?

I know if the courses are very easy like art, film, music, then I would assume no.

But what if they were all math/science courses and 20 credits a quarter?

For example:
Two math classes, a physics class, and a engineering class all in one quarter?

I'm sure they'll take it into account, but from my observations it's not weighted as heavily as it would be if you were applying to dental school (they eat that **** up).

I think you are referring to the semester system. In a quarter system, 12 hours is a full load.

At my school, a full load quarter was 16 credits (4 cr per class average). Of course this is quarter credits.. 1.5 qtr credits = 1 semester credit
