Hi everyone,

I was wondering if I could have some insight on my chances of getting into dental school both in Canada and America with these scores on the Canadian DAT:

RC: 22
BIO: 22
CHEM: 17
AA: 20
TS: 20
PAT: 20

My GPA is around 3.5/4.0.

I understand that my chem score is really low. Do schools look at specific science sections (ie: does my low chem score severely weigh down my application) or is it okay since my AA and TS is 20? Should I rewrite my DAT?

Thank you, any recommendations are appreciated. 🙂

I think you have good stats, combine this with good recommendation letters and great ECs... you will get in some where.
I would apply to a range of dental schools... mostly private dental schools

Very nice scores, the Gchem is a little on the low side, would have loved to see an 18 but with the nice GPA and Bio/Reading scores I think you have a great chance at interviews. I would definitely contact the schools you are interested in applying to and get their recommendations. No need wasting money or time applying where you don't have a great chance at acceptance. Just make sure you have an excellent and well written personal statement, sometimes that can make a huge difference in getting an interview.

Good luck and keep us posted along the way.🙂

Would I have a better chance if I applied using my american DAT scores? Or should I rewrite my DAT?

Thank you for your advice!

Are there any schools in particular that you recommend? With that said, I do have my American DAT written as well.

Very nice I like these American DAT scores...American schools generally give less weight to the QR and PAT scores. American schools focus more on high scores in sciences and reading and you accomplished that. I would not rewrite the American DAT.

That is so relieving to hear. Thank you for all of your advice!! 🙂

Congrats. Those are solid scores. I'm sure you will get interviews. make sure you kill it.
good luck

Hmmm I wouldn't know (I'm not canadian)....maybe call the schools and ask them what they would prefer. Sorry I can't be of more help!
