My applications are out and now I am waiting. Are there any current students or others currently applying who might be able to say if my chances look good for getting in? I don't have the best GPA but i think my other crieria help me. Any thoughts? I'm very nervous waiting for responses now.

GPA: 2.96
Pre-requisite PT GPA: 3.79
GRE: 1270; 580 verbal, 690 quantitative
About 120 hours at various outpatient facilities

I have the exact same stats.

GPA: 2.96
Prereqs: 3.8
Last 60: 3.5
GRE: 1280

I'm applying to 3 schools. 2 good schools and an easy safety. I know I'll get into the safety school and I think the other 2 schools will just be luck.

Email me if you want to talk more. What schools are you applying to?

what schools are both of you applying to? what do you consider your "safety school"?

Don't automatically assume you'll get into a safety school... There really aren't safety schools out there, no matter how many people you "know"...

Definitely true that there are no "safety net" schools out there, unless you are in a guaranteed freshman/undergraduate admit program and meet their criteria, or are part of an articulation program that guarantees admission if you meet the criteria. As this link shows, 50% of all applicants got no offers, no matter how many applications they sent.

Of course some schools have accepted student GPA's and GRE's that are less than others, and therefore it may be easier to get an acceptance from these schools, but there are a lot of other factors considered by individual programs. That's why you have to research the programs you are interested in and determine what criteria they use to make a decision, and target at least some your applications to those schools where you have the best chance.

I just got in to a PT school with a 2.8 PTCAS CORE GPA. You're good.

What school did you just get accepted too? Congratulations!!!

Thank you! I just got admitted into Touro University Nevada this week and I have an interview at AT Still University at the end of the month. My grades are poor and my GRE was average at best so for anyone reading this, numbers aren't everything. Try to make yourself a well-rounded applicant rather than stressing so much about your GPA. Good luck!

RIZ you are my hope. I received a letter from ATStill today.........disappointing....I currently have 4 outstanding prereqs. One will be completed this semester. So I will have to wait for acdem. update to be considered. I am a Kin student at ASU and did my letter of intent w/ ATSU-they have an articulation program. Holding my breath is getting hard.
I have been watching ATS since I was in jr high and like other programs the prereqs keep changing.........I keep reaching and the golden ring keeps inching away.....but still w/in my grasp. Keep on plugging.
I have also applied to Touro.....still pending the cultural experience essay though......
My stats are min. w/ OGPA 3.1 CGPA 2.8 (PTCAS-others are around 3.0) GRE in May was V 460 Q580 AW3.5 retook new version in Aug.......pending results.

thanks rizDPT, its reassuring to see some other numbers with good results.
