Hey everyone

I've been starting to study for the dat and I'm covering gases but some of the calculations seems pretty difficult. Do you guys know how it is on the dat and to what difficulty? Do you guys happen to know specifically the topics for gases too? Is it more conceptual too?

If someone could get back to me I would really appreciate it.

Thanks!

Yeah, I also found those calculations difficult at the beginning. But once you do enough of time, they do make sense at the end. It's better to be over prepared than under prepared, there are only 30 questions in total, it's not worthwhile to risk it 🙂

What kind of practice have you done to work on it or any kind of math related question? I've been using kaplan blue book and gads videos so far for learning and chads videos are great but I'm looking for more practice for what kinds of questions to expect. I'm planning to get bootcamp and destroyer do you think that will help?

questions in DAT destroyer won't require a calculator, but sometimes i do use one because im lazy. also, give topscore a try, people are saying they are pretty similar to the real dat and im using them as well. however, i'm debating on whether to use archiever, people are saying they are way to difficult and doesn't help you study :s

Virtualmaster999-
On the DAT you can have conceptual or calculation based questions. From what I have seen you can have a lot of either type, or a balanced amount of both. The numbers on the DAT in my experience were really nice and easy to work with, that or the DAT just might have you set up the calculation.

Destroyer is great for practicing Gchem.

Honestly, destroyer and BC should be good enough for gen chem. If you're still stuck with certain topics, review those questions and stare at the explanations until you understand them.
