I am absolutely loving being a pathology resident. I'm only a couple of weeks into it, but there is no doubt I made the right choice, both in the sense of choosing pathology as my specialty and in choosing my place of residency training.😀 How are all you other first year residents doing?

I think it's early to tell, but I'm enjoying myself immensely. This is also definitely the right field for me...I can't see myself liking anything else this much!

Anyone have an idea of when the 10th edition of Rosai will be published?

I started on autopsy. I've had two cases so far, and both of them were "emergency" cases that had to be done quickly because they wanted the body back right away. I've also been called for frozens at night. lol so some days have been a bit hectic. But I love my role as a pathologist and I'm happier than I've been in the last two years. I look forward to starting surg path.

I also got an anatomy "homework assignment" that made me find a mistake in my copy of Netter's. haha XD

hi guys this is little too early maybe but i just took my step 1 and im looking into pathology as a possible residency because i love looking at slides and pictures. i was wondering how competitive the field is.

so far, i just have two years of conference presentations, i just got my step 1 score (232/99) and thats about it. high-passing most of my classes. i am in jersey but don't mind moving to other less-metro states, as long as not its completely barren.

any inputs would be appreciated!

One of our residents emailed Rosai asking him this very question. Rosai actually replied to the email and said it would be by the end of the year (barring any unexpected complications). I was impressed that the resident thought to email him!
