So I've blown a ton of money on applications, half of which i filled out, but now ive got interviews. in state is manageable but im from ny and got one to cincinnati. problem is that jet blue doesnt go there so the cheapest i can find is 373! thats a lot of money! amtrak? 18 hours! greyhound? 21 hours! what do i do? is there some other way to get a really cheap ticket w/o going on standby? aaaahhhhhh!

did u try spirit or fly song or independence air?
i know you can fly independence to dayton and then maybe drive to cincy
im from manhattan and my parents moved to dayton, ohio which is about 30 miles from cincy and i fly there lots and usually get pretty good deals (under 200 bucks) i use cheaptickets.com or expedia or check the discount air line guys websites. i would NOT use amtrak or anything else unless u wanna hate ur life 11 hrs... omg i would kick myself in the face
why are u goin out to ohio? stay in nyc man! nah really, congrats on the interview and i hope u find a good ticket, if i come across any ill holla at u- when is your interview date? u could always call u cincy and reschedule your interview to a later date when u can get acheaper ticket
they will understand since ur out of state! happy holidays 🙂 mad love for the BK!

You can get something pretty cheap on priceline usually but you have to be willing to leave at any time on the specified day which can be annoying if you are on a tight schedule and want to avoid 6am flights. I've found though that you can usually figure out which flight priceline will choose for you if you do your research and are going somewhere relatively unpopular -- there are usually only a certain number of airlines/flights from x city to y city on any given day. Assume priceline will pick the most inconvenient time. I agree you should ask if you can push your interview forwards. They'll be understanding (of course you might put yourself at a disadvantage by interviewing later).

Practice using your thumb 👍 these get u pretty far...

What I was going to do is fly Southwest to Columbus then rent a car and drive to Cincy (it's about 1.5 hours). I ended up not doing it because I got accepted to OSU so I withdrew from Cincy.

I think it was going to be about $50 for the car rental. The other poster mentions flying to Dayton which could also be an option.

I just did a sidestep search for a random Thurs-Sun in January for you. Roundtrip from Westchester County to Dayton is $172 on USAirways; otherwise LGA to cinci is $247 on Continental.

Sidestep is great, but I always doublecheck the prices on orbitz, southwest, etc too. Good luck.

yea dayton is only ~30 min from cincy and flights into dayton are usualyl relatively cheap (try indepnedence air or the dreaded us airways)

hm..that is kind of odd...i'm from CA, and i've had interviews in louisiana, chicago, and a few in NY and in Ohio ...the most i've paid is around 250 round trip, including taxes....i've just used expedia and cheaptickets when jetblue didn't fly to the airport i wanted.

Visa, MC, and AMEX love me now. I used Priceline and Orbitz for tickets and hotels, got some good deals. I applied MD and DO, so I am up to over $3,000 now.
