How Are You Preparing for Your Finals??

This may be a little outdated for some of you guys....here in the MidWest, finals are coming up in almost a weeks time.
I was wondering if you guys had any specials rituals or things that you do before you take a final???? Not those take-home finals- I mean those in class, dusk-to dawn, make you howl and go to the front of the room and ask the teacher if they covered that material during the semester kind of final!!

This may include streaking naked, drinking, finding something warm to ****, video games, tv, ........etcetera etcetera..........oh yea, and studying!!

I prepare by forgetting I am a human being who wants to drink make merry and watch DVD's in a dark room non-stop.

Instead I become a cranky workaholic shadow hunched over a notebook. And within a week or so it all passes and I move on wiht life.

finals week is here at my school with my first test tomorrow morning. i told myself i was going to lock myself in all night and study without going anywhere. what'd i do? went and played poker with some buddys. now , it is 12:30 and i havent started studyin, whoops 😎

its ok...... i was just as bad.. Usually, I'm diligent, but this semester I'm experiencing senioritis and getting absolutely nothing done. One final down (today).. four more to go!

Sometimes I hate the concept of how tests judge your knowledge and performance in the class. I see it more as understanding the subject, if you're able to communicate it among your peers or the professor then you've gain what you really were suppose to. Its just those damn test tend to lean more toward your skill under pressure and how well you can handle those tough times. 👎

i put the textbook under my pillow and allow diffusion to occur. Hopefully by the time i wake up, i have more knowledge in my head. Otherwise find out what u need to get on the final to get the grade u want, and study that much.

I think the tests I have taken in undergrad generally show your ability to memorize details; not necessarily understand. You can understand something perfectly but forget a term and you are screwed.,

But memorizing things is important in many cases i suppose

I'm glad you used "diffusion". There was this poster in one of my classes in 6th grade that had garfield with books strapped to his head and the caption read, "I'm learning by osmosis." It always bugged me because it should have read diffusion instead of osmosis. Oh the weird things I remember.

I like having fun with my finals. I get myself psyched, get in a zone. I treated my finals this term like an '86 Mike Tyson treated his opponents -- knocked them out one-by-one: boom, bang, good night... Have that steady determination to attack your science subjects and it will pay off. Best way to study is by having small study groups with equally motivated pre-pharm, pre-med students and being the leader of the pack. Also, go for a workout, get to bed early and be the first one up ready to hit it at the library. Like Bruce Lee, do everything calmly and in style while kicking tail. Walk into that exam feeling like the top dog. 😎

My 7th grade science teacher had that same poster on his wall--I found it amusing at the time. Oh, to be young and ignorant again...

yah that is what I am doing. i made a hit list in my blog and am keeping track of what I have done. I have to knock down stats tomorrow. Already pnwed Immunology and anat and P 2: A's in both classes woo

grr..i can't wait til finals are over!!! I have them this week, so I'm sitting home all weekend studying! 3 more exams and I'm done with undergrad!!! I have a pharmacology exam and a stack of notes about as thick as a freakin KAPLAN PCAT study guide! None of this is sticking! 🙁 (I know I shouldnt be complaining..it'll only get worse!) 👎

dear lord, 200 pages of typed out genomic biology notes are a terrible fate. Why does this one awful final stand between me and getting out of auburn for a few weeks?

I think I just aced my O.Chem final after looking through my notes and book I realized I only missed 1 question. I hope I did well ! 🙂 1 down and 3 to go 👍

i think after i got accepted to pharmacy school this year i relaxed a lil too much cuase i just missed my orgo final today 🙁 🙁
I thought my exam was at 4pm but it was really at 12pm. Yes i am that stupid. errrrrrrrrrrrr

Actually Dictionary.com defines osmosis:
os·mo·sis
1. Diffusion of fluid through a semipermeable membrane from a solution with a low solute concentration to a solution with a higher solute concentration until there is an equal concentration of fluid on both sides of the membrane.
The tendency of fluids to diffuse in such a manner.
2. A gradual, often unconscious process of assimilation or absorption: "learned French by osmosis while residing in Paris for 15 years."

So I think #2 would apply to your Garfield poster. 😉
