I’m also an M1.

I unsuspend cards as they become relevant to class work I’m doing.

Not going to start UWorld Q bank til MS2. It’s pricey and I know I personally would benefit more from it later on when step is closer.

Just an M1 here, too, but I’m unsuspending the cards made from UWorld and NBME material. For me, it comes down to whether you consider those resources learning materials or purely assessment materials. If you consider/plan to use them as learning materials, then you might as well learn whatever factoids came from them now rather than later (why wait?). If you plan to use UWorld or the NBMEs as assessment tools to gauge your preparedness compared to others based on the percentiles and/or people’s posted scores here, then maybe you could argue that learning the cards would inflate that.

I don't think there's any point in not doing them as you're making your way through the deck. You're going to learn the info regardless. It doesn't matter if your scores are inflated. Maxing out on knowledge isn't the issue imo. It's about whether you're actually able to translate that knowledge to a high score.

Edit: Look at it like this. If you're using it as a learning tool, having that knowledge from doing those cards just means less time reviewing questions. You still have to go through the process of deciphering the questions (and answers), understanding how to apply the information, and using the process of elimination. The test taking skills are just as important, in my opinion.

^^I agree with the above. Just a note the person who made the deck with most of the UWORLD question said specifically suspend them until after u do UWORLD but i disagree.
