I am thinking of withdrawing from my Engl course due to instructor difficulties. 30 person class I am 1 of 3 with a passing grade so far, but is going to be the worst grade I ever received if i stay.

Talk to the professor. If it's guaranteed you won't do well, one withdraw won't even get noticed.

Thanks. I was really worried about it. I have gotta start looking at rate my instructor before signing up for classes.

a W doesn't look good. Especially if you are going to apply to med school (a top tier one at that). If your definition of a "bad grade" is a C, suck it up and take it. If it's an F, then withdraw... you're gonna have to retake that course (since Engl is usually a prereq. for most Med schools). Even if you retake a W, you might have to explain to schools, through secondary and interview why and how it happened. Weigh your options. One C doesn't look bad, but an F does, next best thing is a W. That is how I view it anyway. Just one man's opinion. A lot of people may disagree.

I remember I asked this question last year and everyone said it wouldn't hurt me. Some people even posted that they have 3-5 Ws and still got into an MD med school.

Take it as you will.

That's good to hear.I don't want one W to make everything else a waste.

What admissions committee do you currently sit on?

done. over.

use that W to walk your app file into the dumpster

I have one W and one AF (Failing grade for not attending enough class sessions) and have 9 interviews (5MD, 4DO). Non-AA URM with low stats. I've attended two interviews so far and neither of them brought up the W or AF.

Maybe try retaking the course with another prof?

A single W is far better than a C. One brings down your GPA, one does not, and a single W on your transcript doesn't do anything to make adcoms question whether you can handle material. One W will not raise any eyebrows, especially in a non science course.

There are lots of reasons why people withdraw classes and get a W, not all of them negative. I wouldn't think one W would make any difference. I think the difference would be if you had a string of W's that might demonstrate that you can't handle a heavy course load or just drop out of classes consistently to pad your grade. If it were me, I probably wouldn't worry about it.

Don't a get a W every semester, but it's honestly usually better than a C as it saves your GPA. Keep doing well in other courses and I really don't think people will give it a second thought.

Thanks for advice I am currently sitting on a 4.0 so I think that one W on my transcript won't do to much damage, but I was not sure. (URM half AA if of any consequence)

Like i said, it's just my opinion, lots may disagree.

And people will voice their disagreement.
Anyway, as long as you don't make getting W's a frequent thing it's fine. It's basically borderline as if you never took the course if you have under 3 W's. More then it becomes an issue.
