How bad is it to not enroll after you've paid your deposit?

I am accepted to University of Minnesota and paid my deposit, but I just got a call from University of Michigan and they offered me a spot and a $10,000 per year scholarship.

Thoughts? Can I still switch if I decide to? I haven't decided for the record.

I think this happens commonly. I believe you just lose your deposit. Just decline them in a professional way.

Unless NY state schools are the exception, you might be able to get your deposit back since its a state school.
