I haven't submitted my primary yet because my transcripts weren't all received and I figured I would have more time to work on my application. I just called and it seems that AMCAS never got one of my transcripts, and the college I need refuses to send another one out until Thursday (I only have 1 class at this college :/).

How late would I be with a August 8-16 submission?

I am also waiting for my MCAT score which comes out on August 14th.

Ugh I'm so frustrated!!!

What if I took the college out, got verified and then emailed AMCAS saying I forgot to include a college (I have 7 colleges so maybe it will seem reasonable that I forgot about 1 class)

Thanks for the help :]

Not a good idea. You can't add/delete classes after AMCAS submission, since they're verifying that the classes you input in your primary are the same as the ones on your transcripts. Without one of your transcripts, they can't do this part, so IF they let you put it in afterwards, you would most likely have to go through the whole verification process again.

Honestly, at this point, a few days isn't going to make that much of a difference.

When did your schools mail the transcripts?

It was sent out on the 30th, apparently I made a mistake and put the zip code as 20036 instead of 20037 lol.

They resent out another one today because my mom is a faculty member and called in. I caught the mistake AFTER they resent it out. They said now, I have to come back in and redo it, and it will take 5 days to process (that is their rush) lol.

Any chance it will be sent to the correct place with

Washington D.C. 20036 instead of Washington D.C. 20037

lol

Chill.

Survey of n=1 says that students who apply to medical school at the end of August will be accepted with a partial-scholarship to their IS medical school.

Actually, it probably will get there. I sent a postcard from Egypt once to the completely wrong zip code (like 3 numbers wrong) and surprisingly it still got there. Relax.

You don't have to wait for your transcripts to be received to submit your primary. Granted it won't be reviewed until your transcripts get in, but at least you won't have the stress of the primary on your shoulders.

i'm from cali :[

I'm from CA too and it took a bit more than a week to get there. In fact, it might get there tomorrow! I don't know, I think it's because the mail from here to DC can take a while since it's cross country and your school (like mine) likely uses the cheapest available option.

The transcript was sent 7/24 and was received 8/2 if that helps.

Yeah and it is a little late too OP.

Well I still have to write a few more activities down anyways, but if I knew my transcript was there, I'd get on it more lol.

I'm just wondering how bad a August 7-14th submission is :/

Hmm, they said they mailed the transcript out on the 30th, maybe it will still get there :]

how much did you guys go through and edit your work activities stuff in comparison to your PS?

I spent an ungodly amount of time (probably too much time) on my PS, and then I just cranked out my activities in a day. I just got verified (7/3 submission), so now I'm trying to crank out these secondary essays like the activities, but it's kinda tough with all these schools.

Yeah I hear ya, I plan to submit within the next few days. and not worry about secondaries until about Aug 16th (going to bajamas). Then I'm going to start prewriting focusing on 1 every 3 days, My school starts Aug 27th as well. Hopefully by the time I'm verified in mid september I'll be pretty much done. Once I send in a secondary am I complete asap? Or does that take a while?

wohoo, they recieved my transcript. gonna try and submit by tonight or tomorrow

Great, I certainly think you should submit, but we selective as to where apply. I would try to apply to more schools that do not have rolling admissions, if that's possible.

I want to go to the bajamas too! 🙂

Yeah will do, I'm going to apply to one school and then update based off my MCAT on Aug 14th.

I was scoring 37-38 on my last 3 aamc but don't feel near as confident on my MCAT, I was hoping to apply to some top schools, I have a 3.74.

The thing is my verbal always sucks, on my last 4 aamc I got 8,10,8,10. I have a feeling I might even get a 6 on this verbal :/ If I do terribly, is there a way to withdraw my app without being seen as a reapp for next cycle?

If you withdraw before verification then you won't be a reapplicant (I think). Don't worry though, everyone thinks they failed their MCAT.
