How bad is it to use a DO letter for MD schools?

I know most DO schools don't mind an MD letter...but how about the reverse? Will I be at a big disadvantage if my physician letter of recommendation comes from a DO?

OMG, burn it with fire! A DO letter for MD schools? That's toxic.

No, of course not OP. A DO and MD are equally qualified to assert their opinion of you as a future physician.

Thanks guys...

Only potential issue I see is the doctor wrote "yanks26dmb will make a wonderful osteopathic physician". Hopefully this won't be a problem...

Could you ask if she or he would write a second version that simply takes out osteopathic from that sentence? I don't know how close you are with this doctor.
