I'm a recent pharmacy grad who has been working retail pharmacy for three months. However I absolutely hate it and my boss creates a toxic work environment. How bad would it look on my medical school application if I quit so soon after starting? What if I did non-pharmacy related jobs afterwards?

How would they know if you don't mention it?

You could be stuck with worst attendings. That being said no one would blame you for quoting a toxic environment, I would line up a different pharmacy job, plus you don't have to list the job on your application if you are dead set on applying to medical school.

Maybe try a new boss before a new career?

medicine being another 7 years of training...

I've known pharmacy wasn't for me since the first year but I stupidly listened to my parents who said I should keep going.

How would they know if you don't mention it?
I guess i'm worried it'll come up in an interview if i'm lucky enough to get one. Worried about a month gap while i'm finding a new job.

That's fair. I think I would have to list it so I don't have a three month gap, as well it's my only clinical experience.

Empty spots in activities, especially after graduating from a profession school, and just that big, empty NOTICABLE spots.

EOD and Lib's advice are spot on. Bailing on a career just because of a bad boss will immediately raise the concern that you're do the same to Medicine.

How would they know if you don't mention it?
