I live in Houston TX, and have been accepted into good medical schools in Texas, but Baylor College of Medicine is my dream school. I had an interview at Baylor on October 27th, but haven't heard back from them.

Now that I am home during winter break, and Baylor is 30 minutes away from home...

-Should I go and talk to someone at Baylor?
-Should I write to the ADCOM and Dean?
-Should I call?

Even if I do these things, what do I tell them. I was going to tell them why getting into Baylor means so much to me, and then explain to them why they need to accept me. You know, stuff I already did during the interview.

Could anyone suggest another angle. Please. I dont want them to be annoyed with me.

Thanks

Go to the director of admissions and say the exact words you wrote above. Then report back here and tell us if you got in!

Oh, and a suggested other angle? WAIT

I don't think contacting the Dean of Admissions would hurt, but it probably won't help much.

Good luck though.

If it's one thing med school admissions has taught me, it's that coming on strong to a school doesn't help you.

Just close your eyes, pray to some omnipotent deity, and do things to keep your mind off of it.

Thank you for your sarcasm

Haha, I couldn't help myself. Seriously though, just wait. Talking to them before you hear back won't help and it might hurt. Sending a LOI AFTER you get a WL or something though might be helpful though.

Think about it this way. If I just asked a school to let me in, do you think they would? They're going to accept you if they want you. Just be patient.

I think you should just wait it out, excruciating as it may be. If they happen to waitlist you, that would be the time to visit the Dean or send a letter telling them exactly why you feel you are a perfect fit.

I'm pretty certain I read on the Baylor Secondary forum that they are known for making interviewees wait an excruciatingly long time for post interview decision notices. I'm sure there are a ton of people in that boat. I'm expecting to be there myself in the near future (Jan 22nd interview). There's nothing you can do about it, just hang in there...
