Hey guys what is up. I just started my 4th Year and soon (in about a month's time) I need to start applying to residencies and such. My question is this: is there any websites like this one where I can get the skinny into what the residency is like?
I have NO IDEA what makes a good residency and what makes a bad one. I am currently at VCU SOM and really like their IM program but I have received so much conflicting info from different residents and students that I now feel I really don't know how to critically look at a program and know that it's a good one to join.
I'm afraid that on interview days I will only get a "Rosy" picture from faculty and that the residents I meet will have been picked because of their enthusiasm for the program. I doubt I will ever get to have face time with the disgruntled ones and hear their point of view.
I've found Scutwork.com and it's pretty good. I'm just looking for more. And any info you guys can give me about what "red flags" there are.
For full disclosure I am interested in Internal Medicine / Infectious Disease with a goal of working in Public Health and Epidemiology.
