Hi everyone! I am a first year medical student and it has been a struggle to say the least. Have gotten low Cs (when averages were Bs), even though I feel like I am doing everything right. Talked to the professor, got a free tutor, talked to other students. Don't know why I am struggling so much. I am aiming for a B in my structure/function class but I might even get a C. I just dont know what to do.

Any problems in undergrad or with the MCAT?

Ask classmates who score higher which resources they are using.

What study methods are you using?

Welcome to the forums.

How much time are you devoting to your own studying, versus checking in with a study group, especially with those doing better than you.

It feels like you are passively relying on others to turn on a switch for the learning to work. Your student dean should be directing you to learning specialists as well.

Look I know this horse has been beaten to death, but you need to use Anki.

I've seen many students in med school turn themselves around by using AnKing. It just helps you remember the stuff.

Do you take NBME finals? Or in-house?

By the way, it's OK to make Cs in med school. But if you're always on the brink of failing that's not good, you need to figure out why.
