Hi everyone!
I am a sophomore, undergrad, a NY/NJ resident

GPA: 3.638
sGPA: 3.750
Taking MCAT next year, maybe?

ECs
- Coordinated a campus fundraiser for a local organization
- Organized a beach cleanup, with fifteen other students
- Member of the PreMedical Society
- Shadowed a gynecologist (70+ hours)
- College ambassador- give weekly tours of the college

I mean, it's not much.. I was wondering where I can improve, exactly so I can boost my chances of getting accepted.

Shadowing works, but you need more than once specialist. Include primary care as well. You should also do healthcare volunteering (hospital, clinic, nursing home) where you have direct interaction with patients.

AN OBGYN would be considered primary care, but I agree that adding some time with a couple other types of doc to broaden the experience is a good idea. Hours-wise, you're already more than fine.

To add to other suggestions: some weekly or bimonthly hands-on noncampus, nonmedical community service for a cause you care about would also benefit your application.

Get in 2+ years of research with pub, wow-level leadership component, and extraordinary achievement in some realm of endeavor, eg the Arts, sport, community service, international award, etc.
