I am currently in between my first and second year of medical school. I am working on a research project related to both radiology and rad onc. I would like to learn more about rad onc (clinical aspect) but I don't know exactly how to go about doing this. I know for radiology its difficult to shadow b/c a lot of time is spent looking at films, etc.

How would I go about gaining a more clinical perspective on rad onc? Is shadowing a good way? Please advise. Thanks!

Yes, shadowing is probably the best way to learn about it. Find an academic department, contact the chair, or if at a training institution, the training program chair, and ask to meet with a chief resident. After the initial meeting, ask if they'd let you shadow them.
