I am a chemistry major. One of the requirements for graduation is to do what is called a capstone project. This is where you do research with a professor and then you write a paper and give a 10 minute presentation.
Another option is to shadow someone. However, if you choose a shadowing option, you have to relate it in some way to your major, chemistry. For example, I overheard a class mate saying that she chose to shadow a doctor (MD) but she has to somehow relate it to chemistry in her paper and presentation. Shadowing is seen as the "easy" way out to complete the capstone project. Even one professor told the class to do research rather than shadowing because it looks better. However, optometry school requires shadowing. So I thought I would hit two birds with one stone. But I can't think of how I can relate optometry to chemistry. Any suggestion on how I can relate chemistry and optometry in a 10 page paper and 10 minute presentation?
