How can I tell if personal statement fits on one page?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
You have to file-->print that new page. Thats what I did. I think aPD posted in response to a similar question if you want to see it in Word to find out how long it is..

I don't see it in "word format". ERAS simply prints it out in plain text.

I played around with last year's ERAS this AM. It appears that if you set the font to Courrier 10 pt, and set the margins to 0.3 on the left and right, and 0.8 at the top and bottom, that's just about what I'd see. I cut some of the PS's from last year, and it's accurate to +/- 1 line.

Whether ERAS 2009 will be similar is unclear, but they didn't announce any changes to PS's.

Hope you don't mind that I quoted you, aPD!

When I select "Print PS" on eras, a new window pops up, but doesn't print.

That's a common trick on many websites to get the printview like mapquest or google maps. You can try then printing that screen.

I typed my PS on word got a general idea of the length then copied and pasted.

It is impossible to tell. The ERAS site says it depends on the program's printer settings, so each program may be a little different. I would just err on the side of short.
