but when ur in upper classes where the class sizes are so small (less than 20) and there are gpa cutoffs for those courses

so how are they gonna tell whether ur class is a bird or not

They won't.

Humans are actually in the class "Mammalia", not "bird"... the med schools probably know this.

Med schools also probably know how to read a sentence correctly, and they would have noticed that "bird" was referring to the class, not the human. They would also know that a class is not an organism, and therefore not classified under any organism's name.
And they would also know that I'm being very anal about being literal. And that I'm just kidding. 😛

I understand that you're kidding, but you should know that I was well aware of what the OP meant before I commented.

Well, your comment didn't convey your understanding.

Right. It wasn't supposed to. I didn't intend to answer the OP's question in this case; I did intend to isolate a single sentence -- as I did in the quote -- and use this to make a play on the word "class". Do you see that?

The letter your advisory committee writes to the medical schools will typically be used, among other things, to convey how demanding your course of study was. So while one class won't usually be singled out, your classes in the gestalt will typically be categorized as 'rigorous' or 'among the most demanding', etc.

what? I've never heard a class called a bird... what does that mean?

I've heard ladies called birds - but classes? That's new.
