Hey folks!I want to know the procedure to get medical school, get your MD and practise medicine in various courtry. Please write down your courtry's situation.

For example,I finished my senior high school and have a exam including native language, mathematics,English and physics or chemistry after 3 yrs' study. If your pass the exam, you can enter the medical university. It will be 5 yrs.For half of the time you will study basic medicne like anatomy, physiology and biochemistry...For the another half you will study in the hospital. We call The last year internship. And then we hunt our job as a doctor with our Medical Bachelor Degree. Some hospital will hire us, we will do the residency job in a special department like General surgery, vascular surery...After the first year working in the hospital, you will have the exam to get the practice license. And then you can work in your hospital legally. In China most of the doctors work in the public hospital. To get the master or doctor degree is a private affairs.

Sounds like your country is on the European system. In the U.S. you first earn your high school degree, then a bachelors degree (4 years), then you take and entrance exam MCAT, then you go to medical school for four years and earn an MD, then you are placed into a paid apprenticeship (a "residency") for three years. Then you look for a job!

random question, but is the residency restricted to the U.S........? What about someone interested in global or rural health or something?
