how can you find out how far a program has gone on their ROL?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
i think its public knowledge... i just dont know where to find it!

not necessarily public knowledge...only the good programs share that info...to show how good they are (i.e. we only went down to XX before me matched)

The shady programs will not try to reveal this...only the PD and the associate PD know this...

I actually asked this question specifically on one of my interviews...and I got a diplomatic answer back (numbers were not revealed)

any other thoughts...anyone?????

As you make backup for yourself, every program also wants to be in the safe side and fill all positions in the main match. Every program knows at what number and quality usually matches and just includes few extra backups. If a program needs four and usually matches every year by number 10 maximum, what is the point to interview 80 and ranks 50 for example? Because of that, candidates usually go to one of their top three unless there is a major problem in their application.
