I am planning to apply to OT schools for the Fall 2019 admissions cycle. Currently, I am deciding which schools I should apply to.
How competitive are admissions for OT programs that are ranked as the top 25? Around what GPA/GRE scores are reasonable for students to accepted to one of these programs?
I am not too worried about getting an OT job based on where I go to school, but I would like to pursue research in OT, so a larger and higher ranked university would hopefully have more resources and opportunities in research.

I am also interested in research, so going to a public research university was important to me. I was accepted into the #14 and #17 schools in the country (UW Madison and UW Milwaukee) and ultimately decided to attend UW Milwaukee for personal reasons. I honestly don't think these programs are much more competitive than others, however I was also an in-state applicant at these schools.

If there are top 25 programs in your state of residence, I would highly suggest applying to those as preference may be given to you as an in-state applicant. It could potentially be much cheaper as well.

My stats were as follows:
Cum GPA: 3.74
Pre-req: 3.7-4.0
GRE: 155 V 155 Q 5.0 AW

Hi! I was accepted to all of the schools I applied to, most of which were in the top 25 (#1, #4, #6). My cum GPA was a 3.75, prereq GPA was a 3.9 and my GRE was 155 V 157 Q 5.5 AW.

Good luck!
