I am wondering what kinda stats are the normal for this school? Really hard to find any info on it. I will be applying here and have deep connections.

thanks so helpful....

I know, great help right! I wouldn't pay for MSAR, you can get an idea about a school by looking at its rank as well as its website. I don't know this med school but I will try to help as best as I can. Its ranked #73, so it's not too bad and their acceptance statistics look normal-ish. I don't know what they prefer for residency so you might want to check their website.

To push back a bit, I would definitely get the MSAR. Not because it costs money (yuck...) but because it has soooooo much data, about everything. Rankings are often made in funky ways, but being able to say you like school X more than school Y because X is cheaper, has P/F grading, has more community service opportunities, etc. is useful. Plus, you'll get all the acceptance numbers this way - like if only 2/2000 OOS applicants are accepted, that's good to know.

That could be a very helpful statistic to look at for sure.

That school gets around 20 apps/seats. Comparing to other schools, thats a pretty low number. Not the best way to judge "competitiveness" ... but with a LM median of about 69, its a good school for IS applicants. OOS, not so much. I would put it in the 70s or 80s if you're looking for a ranking.

As people said, LM of about 69 is normal for this school. That's something like an average of 3.7/510 or something similar. It's a public school, so it very heavily favors in-state applicants. If you're out of state, you're probably going to want to have stats over their average. On another note, they've really made it a point to recruit URM (i.e. minority) students because a lack of diversity has been posed as a problem in the recent past.

The MSAR costs $28, which is like 6 Starbucks coffees. If you end up using the ludicrous amount of information it contains to prevent a frivolous application to one school ($35) and one secondary fee ($100), which you then don't have to take out in loans, you will have saved yourself $545 over the 4 years of medical school and 20 years of loan repayment. You literally cannot find a better deal.
