I think you're fine. State school? Was it a main campus or a small satellite school that is not well known. Some state schools are highly respected, some are not. Is your 30 even..10s?
I mean, I'm applying too, so I don't really know, but based on stats I think you have a great chance.
Your MCAT is exactly the mean for accepted applicants and your GPA is above, you are definitely a contender. I wouldn't count on Harvard but many schools would be interested. Aren't you a shoe in for the Louisiana schools?
If you are a louisiana resident you would have a 85% chance of an acceptance to the two LSU medical schools. Otherwise, you are very competitive at Tulane and other medical schools. Are you applying this admission cycle any chance?
Probably would be, but most of my family moved to MN a few years ago, so I am actually applying as a MN state resident...thought it might improve my chances at out of state schools and especially MN schools as their stature is a bit higher than LA schools...thanks again for responding...
yep...this cycle...but I turned in all my sec. apps. at the beginning of Sept. and I only have one interview so far (GW in DC)...concerned 'cause I haven't heard from others...
If you would have applied earlier you would have had a lot of luck. I applied in June with a 3.7 gpa, 3.5 sci, 29R and received 8 MD interview invites and have been accepted to 1 so far.
