Can it cost you the match altogether? Or is there any hope left if you could do well in other steps? I'm talking about a visa needing IMG 🙁!!!!!!

Did you fail it or are you expecting that you may fail it?
I've heard the fail rate is very, very low, and the main objective is to see if patients can understand your English.
Don't worry too much if you've not taken it yet. Give it your best try. Speak clearly and loud enough during the exam. If English is not your first language, perhaps practice with someone who is a native English speaker.

I dont think it can cost the match! I know several 99/99s who failed the CS....(and matched)....

you can fail the CS? Other than costing you another $1000+ and some embarrassment, I don't think it's a big deal!

i know someone who failed CS in the fall (prior to interview season) and was asked repeatedly during his orthopedic interviews why he had failed. ultimately he did NOT match.. why this happened is probably multifactorial, but the failed CS component surely doesn't help.

Don't you take it after the match? At least that's when I took it. Unless you are a FMG and need to take it earlier.
I think everyone knows that CS is B.S. and only a way for them to make $. Plus, if you want to go into path or radiology, why should you have to take CS and pay 1500?

There are many with past attempts relax take it again and u should do fine.
All the research states it does not matter as long as you are certifiable by the time of the match.
