Out of curiosity, how did everyone feel walking out of CK? Did it feel like you rocked it? Or was there a bit of uncertainty walking out of it? If you've already received the result, how did you perform relative to how you felt walking out of it?

Also, how did it compare to your experience after you took Step I vs. how you actually did on it?

I didn't think Step II was THAT bad (less wtf questions than Step I).. alot of it was on par with USMLE World (maybe 10% of questions that tested the same exact concept), but a bunch of the questions (maybe 30%) felt like they required some thinking for you to recognize what concept they were testing.

Because I'm a relatively slow reader, I felt I didn't have enough time to think about the more complex questions and ended up just making obvious leaps based on key words (while I suspected there was something else going on that I was missing).. I marked these questions to come back to, but rarely actually had time to get back to review these by the end of the exam.

For the most part, I felt that the questions on the actual CK were longer than the typical UW.. so while I finished with time to spare on UW, i had trouble getting through the vignettes on CK.

As a result I have no idea how i did walking out of it and I'm scared that I may not have done as well as I would have hoped or was capable of.

So what is your experience?

I took mine on Sept 11. Result will probably be out today/tomorrow.

Walking out of my Step 1, I felt horrible. I was pretty tense until the result came out. With my experience whenever I felt bad about an exam, I usually do well on it. Ended up getting in the 240s. It's okay, but not what I was expecting. Coming out of that exam I remember over 250 questions, and was able to check my answers.

Walking out of Step 2 I was apathetic. I hadn't slept at all the night before and the exam drained me. I felt like the whole exam was a dream. I never came close to running out of time. The exam seemed pretty easy compared with step 1. Coming out of this exam, I only remembered like 30 questions. So in the end, I have absolutely no idea what/how to feel. I'm frightened but hopeful.

The questions were similar to UW, but they did seem longer.

I guess you and I are in the same boat.

Yea. I used to remember questions much better than I remember textbooks. During school I'd remember all of the questions from the exams and go check them. I almost always knew exactly what my score would be.

When I took step 1, I felt really really dumb. I must have guessed for like 30% of that test. I definitely felt as though I had failed and was totally expecting to take it again. ( ended up doing ok)

When I took step 2, I definitely didn't feel like I rocked it but I was pretty confident that I had at least passed. I remember thinking the test was pretty fair. I ended up doing relatively well ( in the 260s).
All I have to say is thank goodness for usmleworld 😛
