I just interviewed at Ohio State yesterday and had a great experience. Before the tour, they told me I would most likely be accepted -- the worst case scenario is that I'd be placed one or two on the waitlist...I know it was the last day of interviewing and all but I didn't think to ask how they were going to notify me (they said by the end of this week). The link that they talk about in the paper that they give you...I found something online that let me put in my SSN but I'm not sure if this is it. Were other people called? The wait is awful!

OSU's whole admissions process has appeared really disorganized this year (and in previous years, I might add). They either tell you right after your interview that you're in, sometimes they call, and other times they'll send a letter. They meet every Tuesday to discuss the interviews for the previous week (that is, those who they didn't offer an immediate acceptance to) and decide if the people are "in," "out," or if they'd like to keep the apps on file to compare them to future interviewers.
The fact that they're even interviewing this week is ridiculous as far as I'm concerned. I interviewed a few weeks ago - after scheduling an interview over the phone when I called to check my application status, unsure if I'd even have GOTTEN an invite if I hadn't called.
*rolls eyes* Sorry if this is coming across as a bit cynical, but OSU's whole process has not impressed me at all. It is their disorganization that largely steered me towards Michigan and away from Ohio.
With all that said, who knows when or how you will hear. If they didn't tell you right away, they probably sent a letter today. That status check page where you enter your SS# and BDay is the only status check they have - it should say you have a "decision in the mail" or that you have been "deferred or waitlisted" and that you will eventually have a decision sent to you (you know, when they finally get their heads out of their asses).
Again, sorry, phew OSU has irritated the hell out of me this year 😉 Good luck, and if they said you will likely get in, then you probably will. But if I were you I wouldn't go there  JK!

I agree. I like how if you ask for any info on the phone they act like you just shot their cat. I remember they were so angry. I mentioned that I knew several people notified by phone and in person and they just denied it. I'm curious if some of the interviewer pairs have more weight then others....it seems that they do.

I think the way they tour is pretty shoddy. You're raced around at lunch time by students which may or may not have any idea what is even going on in the facility (or where various places in the facility are!).

Oh well.

they actually called me today to let me know i was in. much faster than upenn!
