i will have to do something similar...how did u do it? how much time did u have?
what do u suggest.....i have recently taken everything but BIO . I finished bio w/my UG in 91

Kaplan (never went to class) and EK. Went over each Kaplan chapter 3 times and did all their subject and topical tests. Did all the EK books and about 1/3-1/2 of the physics, ochem and gchem 1001 books. Ran out of time and only did 3 of the AAMC exams. Should have done all of them. Here is a tip for Kaplan people that I wish I would have figured out before: Take the AAMC tests during the Kaplan proctored exams. That way you will get the real test-taking experience and you will be using real MCAT's. The Kaplan tests are good but the real thing is always better.

EK = Examkrackers. They sell their books online and on Amazon. The regular EK books are review of the material. The 1001 books are 1001 multiple choice questions. There is a 1001 book for each subject. They are good for nailing down the content. They are not in a passage type format (except for the bio one).

FORMULAS! Memorize them. Know them cold. Seriously folks, find a classmate who’s taking the Kaplan, pay them ten bucks to Xerox their formula sheet and memorize it. If you can’t memorize 60 equations, you have no business going to medical school anyway. The physical science section becomes exponentially easier if you’ve done this. Same goes for periodic table trends.

Gotta say I really appreciated this. I'm scheduled to retake the beast in August. In April I got 9s, and after two months of ten hour days I wasn't able to get above 10s...UNTIL I read this post and began just...simply...memorizing. Brain damage that I didn't focus on that before. But the result has been outstanding - I'm now consistently scoring 12s. I can live with that! What its done, specifically, is take the fear factor away. Without the formulas confidently memorized, I get in the middle of some physics nightmare and panic, then consistently guess wrong. However, WITH the 'simple stuff' firmly stuck in my head, I fall back on that and even when I'm not sure and have to guess, I have a much better chance of guessing correctly.

With another month (about) of study to go, I am, for the first time, feeling confident.

I took the MCAT in 1999 (the third time)

My total score was 24P

You can now call me doctor. 😀

I just started residency, I am 37 with 2 kids.

Keep the faith. You all can DO it.
