Hey everyone,

Just wondering if anyone can lend me some insight as to how they approached the ebola virus passage--for w/e reason, maybe fatigue, maybe lack of knowledge, I completely bombed that passage. I got every question wrong except for the pseudo-discrete lol

Thank you!

When I got to this passage, I knew I was in for an ass-whoopin. This is actually the only passage I skipped entirely on any of the AAMCs.

I finished the rest of the test, then had about 20 minutes left to go back and attack this thing. I've seen similar material in a cell bio class, so I had an idea how to approach it. I think my biggest stumbling block was figuring out if "+" meant wild type or the absence of gene (in fruit flies it generally means the absence of a gene). Once I figured that out, it was a matter of carefully figuring out which parts of the super-graph applied to which questions.

I think once you truly (like after 10 minutes of study) understand the graph, the questions themselves weren't so bad.

all i remember is pushing my way through it and thinking WTF is up with this graph?!!? I did my best to interpret it by what would make sense, thankfully it worked out pretty well and I only ended up with one wrong. You just have to do your best to make the material relate to you and your abilities.
