Hi guys! So, like many people, I bought the DAT Destroyer and Math Destroyer to help study for my DAT. However, I feel like while doing problems, I'm forgetting how to approach all of them, and panic a bit. In the end, I feel like I'm not retaining the info too well. So I was wondering, what approaches did you guys have towards these books that helped you the most? Thank you!

Use textbooks to refresh your concepts. Questions will see difficult at first, but if youn mark what you are doing wrong, then refer to the textbooks, it wilk make much more sense.

I basically simulated the "actual" test, doing 40 bio, 30 genchem, and 30 o-chem in one sitting. Then after doing so I'd go over all the answers with solutions in the back, and read over them EXTENSIVELY, especially if I got the question wrong. Then, anything I felt useful that I needed to refresh/remember, I'd type out as 'notes'. I ended up having about 18-19 pages of notes (with DAT destroyer and Math Destroyer). I didn't let any of it deter my studying if I didn't get the best score. In the end I'd say it helped a lot and was really beneficial

Just drill it into your head that the Destroyer is NOT an accurate representation and that you WILL do better on the real test. When I started the Destroyer, I honestly just kept getting angry with myself and found that I wasn't retaining a single thing. I finally just stopped and told myself that I NEEDED to learn this stuff--getting mad sure as heck wasn't going to help with that. I also consoled myself with the fact that everyone says the Destroyer was much harder than the real thing.

I went through the Destroyer multiple times and even on the second time through, I did MUCH better. I pretty much had them all down by the third time, save for some super hard ones. 🙂 And guess what? My test was much, much easier. Just learn the Destroyer so you will be über over-prepared. Being over-prepared, I'm sure, makes you much more efficient with completing the easier problems.
