i just quit smoking 2 months ago, but i am gonna buy me a nice cigar if i get the good news tomorrow.

I'll just say that I have a MAJOR hang-over today.

So, what did you do when you found out???

I called all my family and had a nice breakfast with my best friend.

Thats exactly my plans for later tonight, work and class will not be fun tomorrow.

But my reaction was really just a huge feeling of relief, didnt yell or anything, guess my reaction wasnt all that cool, maybe ill do somethign really stupid tonight and let you all know about it😉

Well after back to back congratulatory phone calls this morning from my top 2 choices (colorado and indiana) I did the following...

1. a "hell ya", a little fist pumping, and a great big sigh of relief 🙂
2. called mom and dad first of course
3. started calling the rest of my family and friends only to find out
that I was competing with my mom to see who I could reach
before her....thanks mom
4. then I hiked up to the top of the mountain where I'm currently
living (Floyd Hill in Evergreen, CO) to enjoy the beautiful day
here in CO
5. Hopped on SDN to congratulate everyone who received good
news today and share a little of my own.
-----------------------
Then there is tonight....

Probably eat a nice meal and begin the journey towards tomorrows hangover. I only have 9 months left to enjoy any semblance of a life, but it will all be worth it come 2008.

Congrats again to everyone who heard something today. Like Yah-E said, for those who didn't there's still PLENTY of time. Good luck everybody. Let the festivities begin.

PS. If anyone in CO feels like going out to celebrate tonight, PM me!

I was sick the day I found out. My girlfriend graciously brought in the mail and told me I had something from a dental school. I opened it, and had just enough time to cheer before yuking my guts out again. That was Friday. On Saturday my old roomie from Virginia Tech came in town and we spent the afternoon and night turning up the beer cans.

Come on people!

There are like 100+ acceptances on this forum today and only five people had any reaction? What, like today was just a confirmation of what you already knew? Booooring... Come on class of 2008!!! Where's your enthusiasm? There must be some more excited and celebratory members of the class of 2008 out there...

I was at the campus library, refreshing my email inbox like crazy until the first acceptance came in (from Tufts). The next hour or so, I wore a grin so wide, you could cross a river with it. I then began calling randomly calling a few of the schools to which I applied, knowing that whatever they said, I was in.

That night, I planned on telling my parents the good news over dinner. The time came for me to reveal the news... and they just looked at me blankly. I don't know if my delivery needed polishing or what, but I didn't even get a "congratulations", just a surprised "oh, wow, already! How did you find out?" Then, "I don't suppose you bothered to call [in-state U.]?"
I had. No news from there.
The topic moved on to something else from there, before I had to leave. Not the tickertape parade I had anticipated, but that might have to wait until I sign the dotted line.

But, hey, I'm in!

Just wait till this time next year; the transition from last December to today has done a huge number on the mystique of dental school in my mind 😛

Now is that good mystique or bad mystique Bill? 😉

very happy....dun even wanna study anymore...hahaha...argh....two examz tomorrow :>
of course, I called dad and mom first......=D

Street culture is invading all spectrums of society. I predict that we will soon see new D1's getting dental school logo tatoos.

Frankly speaking, I was expecting an early morning call.
So I was carrying my phone with me everywhere. I was sitting
on John when I go the call

Rest is flushed

Ah, if only I hadn't gotten the news on a monday. I called my parents and boyfriend immediately and then proceeded to have a crappy day of classes, only to come back and have a ton of errands to run and then a bunch of extra work thrown at me from my bosses. Besides having my last physics section this morning at 8 am, I had to do the homework for that class (it usually takes about 4 hours to complete) AND study for a quiz in it. But my boyfriend surprised me by coming over with a small bottle of champagne and we toasted and whatnot (he REALLY wants me to stick around Maryland, so he was happy). So the night had a nice end to it at least.

I guess I just can't get myself all that excited though cuz I still have physics hanging over my head all year, and if I don't manage to pass this semester or next, my acceptances are moot. 🙁

Alright, I'm done with my complaining, I hope everyone else has much happier and more exciting stories than me! And congrats to all who have received acceptances thus far!!!

I was pretty pumped when I got my acceptances....I guess it still hasn't quite set in yet, seems kind of sureal. It's awesome to think that I'll be sitting in a dental school lecture one year from now and in four short years I'll acutally be a dentist. Congrats to everyone.
