Hi,

So, I have some of the 1001 EK books and am trying to figure out the best way to utilize them. So, if you did use them...

Did you go through the lecture book completely before touching the 1001's, or did you do them as you went along (like after each lecture)?

Also, how did you approach the thousands of questions... did you do every 5 or so like the physics book recommends, or labor through each and every one?

And finally, did it help?

Any experiences and feedback would be great!

Thank you

First time - read all books just answering only the questions within chapters.
Second time - re-read book doing 1001 after every chapter I just read.

-Be prepared : 1001 Phys and Chem are good but some questions are ridiculous. ( I recommend getting TBR for chapters you are weak on, cause TBR does 10x better job at explaining some things than EK)

I studied with Kaplan and then did all the EK 1001 for Physics and Gen Chem. I just did them both straight through. They seriously SERIOUSLY help with the basic understanding of how to solve most types of stand along problems the exam will throw at you.

Before studying for the MCAT I literally was terrible at physics. I ended up getting a 10 on the physical science portion of the real exam (almost certainly because of the EK1001)

Also, if you're studying with EK1001 I HIGHLY recommend paying the extra and getting access to the online forums where the moderators respond to specific questions and work you through the entire problem.. the explanations in the back on the book are for the most part terrible (and sometimes impossible to follow / wrong). Usually most of the questions have already been asked by already people so all you have to do it search around the forum to find how to work a problem 👍

I haven't used much for Bio yet but for Orgo, I'm using them as I read the book. EK Orgo is terrible to read alone I think. Too many concepts condensed and not enough practice problem to hammer the concepts in. EK Orgo 1001 seems to do that perfect job.
