My state requires one year of residency in order to get my license, and I want to stay here after graduation due to family reason. However, my grades are just around C to C+, which I think it not good at all. How difficult is it to get into dental residency program? Like any of them?

I hear its fine but some VAs are actually pretty competitive. Had a convo with a third year about this a few days ago.

Do you know what they look for if not grades?

I'm a D4 with a 2.9 GPA. I received interviews to 5 of the 10 programs that I applied to. They look at more than just grades, so breathe.

Yeah I agree with the above poster. There are a bunch of programs out there. Like more spots than there are applicants. If you don't care where you go at all, then you can get in somewhere as long as you apply broadly and not to the competitive programs. However the top programs wouldn't even interview you, but that wasn't your question. Best of luck! Start contacting directors and getting your name out there.
