I noticed in the MSAR that the GPAs schools release are rounded to the nearest tenth. I was curious if this is how they view applicants. Do adcomms compare applicants by looking at the hundredths or the tenths place when it comes to GPAs?

better question would be if anyone really knows what they do....

Are you worried that an adcomm might pick someone with a 3.97 GPA over your 3.96? Come on, man, you know your GPA is great, adcomms will know your GPA is great, and you're wasting your time even thinking about this.

they adjust the gpa using a function that takes into account your gpa, the specific courses you took, your school and mcat score, the current distance to the sun, and the speed of light through a random non-vacuum substance. this function needs a lot of precision so they round the final gpa to the nearest 1/10^1000.
