Sorry to ask everyone but i am completely blind in this are. Does it matter what dental school you attend as far as licensing goes? ( I mean behind the prestige that may lie behind a certain program) Lets say attended dental school in Louisiana; when you graduate and take the boards can you practice in any other state? Do you have to take the exam on a per state basis? How does licensing work upon graduation?

It depends on where you're at. For example, and the only thing I know for sure, is that on the west coast, most people take the WREB's, (Western Regional Examination Board) which covers many states.

Not sure if the WREB officially replaced the CA state boards or not, but like I said, everyone takes the WREB out here. Perhaps there is something similar on the east coast.

In general, try to go to the school in/near the area you plan on practicing, if possible of course.

For better results, don't ask this in the predental forum.
