Hi,

I just took the Official MCAT 2015 sample test, but the results are only given in percentages. Can anyone help me calculate what this would score out of 45, or point me to a relevant thread if this question's already been asked?

Chem+Phys: 56%
CAR: 87%
Bio+Biochem: 73%
Psych + Soc: 59%

Thank you.

It's a waste of your time trying to convert your percentages into a score. The inability to compare scores between the two exams is exactly why AAMC changed the scoring scale, so you just gotta accept the uncertainty.

I will say, though, that your CARS score is great! Your Bio is pretty good, but you need to raise the other two sections.

No ADCOM will do this but if you want to have a very rough idea of how you scored

Verbal: between 10-11
Chem+Phys: 8-9(closer to 8)
Bio: 9-10(closer to 10)
Psych: No real score to convert to

Again, I'll emphasize what I did above is largely meaningless. It's just for yourself if you look through MD Applicants or on here and want to see how your odds compare with others this provides a very rough estimate of being able to convert your MCAT to ones from previous years. So under this extremely rough and far from perfect conversion you have about a 28. Again though, when you apply to medical school, the only thing any ADCOM will care about is percentiles nobody will do what I just did. Long story short yes it's probably worth retaking the MCAT and if you can do well on the CARS you have the ability to better on this test in all likelyhoood.

I think most people are missing the fact that this test was a practice test. I can't tell you what the scaled scores are, but I can tell you that the majority of your study time should be spent focusing on your two lowest sections! Good luck, OP!

Lol yep I completely missed the whole "practice" part of it.

Thanks mcatjelly! I never took an intro psych class so that section was a lot of guesswork for me. I'm working on learning all the terms. As for chem and phys.. they shall remain forever my nemeses ;_;

Thanks! For psych+soc I just need to learn all the psych terms since I never took the class, but chem/phys is seriously daunting me
