How Do I Find a Job After Graduation?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
This might be a dumb question, but how do graduates go about finding jobs after graduation? Is there a job listing website for dentists?

your state dental society classified ads
monster.com
careerbuilder.com
company's own websites (such as aspen dental for example)
community health centers (ihs, national health)
military

those are a few, good luck!

The beT source for jobs are the Patterson, Schein, and other reps. They go from office to office and know what's going on. I would definitely get in contact with them and even if they don't know of any current jobs tell them to put ur name out

or wash car windows on street corner.

Or if you wanted to actually have a chance at getting a job, because filling out forms online NEVER seems to be successful, go from office to office and actually find out if they need some help or call them up.

Its about 10x's harder to start your own from scratch. No patients, no staff, no experience vs having a steady patient flow when you buy out an existing practice.

just buy an exsisting office, the stock market has recovered some and boomers are aging (eye sight and health fading). You may be just the what they are looking for. You can do a phase-in with the agreement to buy at a set date. Financing will be difficult as it was for me, but it is posisble. Many pracitices are not doing very well and you maybe able to get a good deal if you find a dentist who has his head out of his *****.

Mercer also has a job placement program you can look into. not that i have heard any positive or negative feedback, just that i know it exists.
