How do I get letters of recs from science profs if I've been out of school for a while?

I graduated undergrad 3 years ago and some schools that I want to apply to need 2 letters of rec from science profs or letters from a committee. I have one prof in mind who I did have some physio classes with and was in a specific 15 person neuroscience class one year, and I got to know him a bit, but I literally haven't spoke to him since I graduated. How should I go about contacting him without it being too weird? And I'm not sure if he'd even be willing to write me a letter after 3 years. Besides that, if I can't get a 2nd science letter, am I just out of luck for some schools? I didn't get close with any other profs during undergrad.

I would say go ahead and ask that professor. I mean it doesn't hurt to ask. Go to his office hours and he might remember you and just talk to him. You could also call or email the schools that you're interested in applying and tell them your situation and see what they recommend.

I'm in the same boat. I reached out to an old professor through email. It was awkward, but he hasn't replied yet. Just in case, I emailed my most recent professor (from almost 2 years ago)for anatomy. She replied and I sent her an evaluator request. So I'm kind of just hoping she submits the letter soon. If you reach out to any schools, let me know what they say.
