say an article is written about me. a medically related article, but in a major periodical. how would i list this on my CV?

"featured in: blahbady blah, 2006" . . . ?

Hm. Are you the subject of a case report? If so, I wouldn't put that on your CV. On the other hand, if you did something really cool and were featured in a little human-interest piece, 'featured in' sounds okay to me. But it won't add a whole lot if your achievement is already described appropriately elsewhere on your CV. Actually I think I would put the 'featured in' in that section (where you describe the achievement), rather than in the 'publications' section.
 
That's what I did. I had a bio or something published in some book about academic achievements, and I listed it under honors/achievements rather than publications. Publications is for things you have authored.
 
I would put it in the achievement as well, but also, try to integrate it into your personal statement.
