I think there are websites where u can locate doctors in ur area, does anyone have a link to one. I am specifically looking for DO's and DO's who specialize in OMM. Thanks.

Here's a good link for your request:

Find a D.O.

Good luck.

Yellow Pages

Seriously, some of my (non pre-med) friends have told me this. Who actually looks for their doctor in the yellow pages? If you don't have insurance, that's one thing, but if you do, well then, that's just plain strange.

I don't think I would ever trust a doctor that advertises in the Yellow Pages; the same as I don't trust any lawyer that advertises on TV or in the Yellow Pages. I just find something very strange about it. Most doctors get their patients from referrals anyway (either from other doctors or other patients, etc.). I mean, could business really be THAT bad?

Look at a local hospital's website and scroll through the listings of primary care and em docs. Then start cold-calling and asking to shadow. This is how I found my DO to shadow.
Good luck!

also, it might be hard to find a DO who "specializes" in OMM, depending on where you're at. Finding one that even uses omm (in my experience) can be difficult enough, but they're definately out there...

Trust a lawyer? Ha Ha Ha

If Jesus Christ himself shows up with a host of angels and points to Joe Smoe (attorney at law) and says "You can trust this man"..... then and only then I "might" trust him a little.

When you say "cold-calling", you mean you just called their office and asked to talk to the dr? I tried doing that and some secretaries/assistants said they would give the dr a message but I never received any calls back. What did you say?

You have to use a type of whistle where the frequency is too high for human ears, but Osteopathic physicians trained in OMM can pick it up and locate YOU. Try to get on top of a large mountain or building ... it usually helps. :meanie:

Well now that that's out of my system:

www.osteopathic.org ... there is a feature actually called 'find a DO.' You can also search by specialty. Just curious, aren't you an SGU student? What do you need to find an OMM specialist for??
