Should I be nervous?? (I'm feeling very nervous!)

I have a 3.96 GPA at community college (most of my science taken there) and a 3.01 GPA at university (BS in Mathematics). I have five years of work experience in the medical insurance industry, one year at a free health clinic, and a month and continuing at a pharmacy as a tech. I have solid LORs and a couple extracurriculars. I took the PCAT in August - 87 composite, scored in the 90's for verbal, reading, and math, 69 in biology, and (eck) 49 in chemistry. I scored 3.0/3.0 in writing. I'm taking the PCAT again this Saturday, and I expect I'll do better in those sciences... I'll get on my apps next week..............

So, could I have your opinion, please? Should I be nervous? Besides getting those apps in, anything else I can do at this point? Just pray?????

:scared:

Ya, I'll get right on that!

I got in with numbers like yours (okay my university GPA is a 3.5), a lower PCAT, and not as much medical experience as yourself. I do, however, work with people a lot more and do the "team" environment stuff. As long as you are a confident, assertive, and know why you want to pursue a career in pharmacy (and you can back it up with your experiences), you should be fine. You're going to be nervous, especially when you first walk into the interview, but the best thing you can do is try to be yourself. It's worthless to try to be someone you're not. If you are yourself, I am sure you'll be fine.

Given your GPA, experiences and PCAT, you can't do much more else than improve that chemistry score. So, you should panic as your situation is what it is and I think that you have a good shot at scoring some interviews.
