Coming into college, I was pre-dental, but now I am considering becoming pre-med. I am a biochemistry major and Russian minor, and I was just accepted to work as undergraduate research assistant in a biophysics lab in the physics department (which is highly ranked at my school). Last semester, I took a class on STEM research and we toured different labs, interviewed researchers, and I really started to get interested and excited with research. Now that I am in a lab, I intend to stay deeply involved as a team member until I graduate. Some other undergraduates that graduated from this lab have been published, and I have a good shot at being published myself.

My question is, what would I do to start preparing for an MD/PhD program? Would I shadow other MD/PhD's, or just shadow MD's? How high should I aim to keep my GPA? I want to learn more about the job and everyday life of a medical scientist.

Edit: misread the question, ignore me
