Hey guys, havent been on here in a while. Anyways, my first year of med school is winding down and I am so relieved. Cant wait for the summer to begin. Ive worked pretty hard this year, and have some great grades to show for it. However, I am worried. I seem to be forgetting a lot of the information that we have covered this year. First quarter seems so long ago. I obviously knew it well before because I wouldnt have done so well on most of my exams.

Is anyone else having this problem as well? Granted I do have the big picture and most of the clinically relevant stuff still intact. It would just make me feel better if all the the stuff I leanred stayed in my head. How do you all do it?

remember everything for what? step 1? you'll review. real life? you'll never use it.

You don't. The important stuff will get rehashed for you in Pathology next year and then you'll cram it all into you head for Step 1. Then third year, you'll see patients, remember some stuff you forgot (or never learned in the first place) and realize that there's no way you're going to know everything anyhow. You'll attempt to relearn stuff again for Step 2 and then your brain will go to mush as a fourth year.

Then, as an intern, you'll really learn it.
