How do I sign up for a retake?

I registered through the ada website again using the same DENTPIN, indicated I had taken the test before, and paid the fee to send my scores to some schools. However when I go to the prometric website to schedule my test it says my identification number is not recognized. I used this number (the DENTPIN number) when I signed up the first time and it worked, but now it's not. I know that I have to wait 90 days before I can take it again but that shouldn't stop me from signing up now so that I can take it 90 days from my first attempt. So what's going on? 😕
 
Apparently you won't be able to reschedule until you get a notification of eligibility to do do so. This should happen automatically at some point after paying the fees and such (as you said you did). Did you get this notification?

Keep this in mind as well regarding prometric and trying to schedule your test:
How long will it take for my eligibility or authorization to test to be downloaded into the system so that I can schedule an appointment to test?

Please note that not all test sponsors require eligibility, therefore, you may be able to test immediately. For those programs requiring eligibility, the files are downloaded and test appointment scheduling is available within 48-72 hours of receiving authorization from the test sponsor.
