How do I write a great PS?

Hey everyone, with applications opening up in a few months, I wanted to get a head start on my personal statement. My only problem is that I have no idea where to start. Personally, I feel that my experiences will make a pretty average PS but I want something that will really grab a lot of attention and set me apart from the other applicants. I have no research experience but average volunteering/shadowing hours so I need to improve my application wherever I can. I've decided that any more hours in volunteering/shadowing will seem like some last minute BS to beef up my application and probably won't make that much of a difference. So can anyone give me some advice on where to begin? Thank you all!

If you don't think anything in your life thus far is cooler than average to write about, you'll have to grab attention with your writing style. Judging by your stats in your signature, I don't think an average PS would break you, though

Talk about some experiences that made you who you are and somehow relate them to dentistry

Start by writing with a piece of paper and a pencil. No, really. I'm being serious. Don't try and type it out. Write it out on paper. Have a field day and write down anything and everything on your mind which has something to do with why you want to choose this field.

You are unique. Write about you. Write something unique

-Introduce yourself
-Mention anything exciting about your character and your passions and skills beside dentistry
-Relate them to dentistry
-what experiments made you who you are and have prepared you to be the best dentist you can be in the future
-why dentistry
-what you can bring to the field
-how fir you are to dentistry

The list goes on. Make a long draft and edit it after.

Don't just list your experiments like a resume. That's boring. Talk about anything you learned about them. It's called PERSONAL statement for a reason. It's about you. Sell yourself, but don't brag. Humble brag I would say is more appropriate.

Your stats are competitive. Work on your EC thou. Start NOW with shadowing amd volunteering. It's not BS. Yoi focused more ln academics for a period and you are now switching your focus to EC. There is nothing wrong with that. It's about you and your journey so don't compare yourself with others. Make it as unique and exciting as possible.
