I attend a community college, so the highest you can receive is A not A+. Lab and Lec are one grade combined.

Gen Chem 1: A-
Gen Chem 2 Honors: A
Gen Bio 1: C+
Gen Bio 2: B
Organic Chem 1 (First time): C
Organic Chem 1 (Second time): A

The reason I received a C in Orgo the first time around is because I made the fantastic decision to take it as a summer course. The class was a total of 5 weeks and that is just NOT enough time to learn and grasp all the material required to know. Biology is not my strong suit. I was taking Gen Bio 1 and Gen Chem Honors 2 during the same time and decided to devote almost all of my time towards Chem because I thought that Bio would be a breeze. Yes my test scores increased throughout the semester but I still think I did poorly. I took Gen Bio 2 and Orgo 1 (2nd time) in the same semester.

Bio 1 and Orgo 1 are kinda meh. I can't remember the general consensus, but I think a W w/ retake > C?

Taking Bio 2 and Orgo 1 isn't an excuse. People take 2+ sciences per semester everywhere and are able to get A's in both.

GPA is what matters. One or two Cs mean little-to-nothing compared to your entire record.

If you got these grades because you slacked off and did not study, then you just need to grow up and become more responsible. If you got these grades despite studying hard for your classes, then I would be concerned about whether you have the ability to get into medical school.

As I mentioned, taking orgo 1 in the summer was one of the worst decisions I could have made. I took bio 1 and gen chem 2 in the same semester and had a really hard time that semester because of personal issues. I managed to land an A in chem because thats just my strong suit. Although bio really is not and I didn't have the time to study like I would have liked along with everything else I had going on in my life. Besides those 2 issues, the rest of my grades are pretty good.

Medical school classes will force you to learn material at several times the pace of a summer organic chemistry class. Only having 5 weeks for O-Chem I is not an excuse. You either did not study enough or you lack the ability. It's one or the other, and you need to determine that quickly so that you can both grow as a student and make good decisions about your future.

You're fine as long as you keep the GPA up like Spinach Dip said. You know what your weak points are now focus on nailing those classes. I wouldn't worry about the C in o-chem. Some people find it easier than others. Personally, I don'think anything in med school is as difficult to understand as o-chem.

I'm more concerned that the C's and B were earned at a CC, which med schools often view as easier. If going the DO route is fine with you, then you may not have an issue. However, if you plan on going the MD route, then you will likely have to demonstrate that you can get A's in higher level courses once you transfer.
