Hello all,

Im a prospective PA student looking to learn more about how PAs keep up with the ever-changing field of medicine. What journals, websites, magazines, blogs, publications do current PAs read/subscribe to? I know many attend the annual AAPA conference where there are opportunities to network and earn CME, what are other ways PAs use to learn medicine? Do employers provide opportunities to keep up with PA's CME requirements? Would you recommend prospective students start following such publications etc. in an area of interest, to gain more insight into that particular area of the field?

Thank you for any input!

The same way docs do- lifelong learning. cme conferences, magazines, seminars, websites, hands-on clinical training, etc.
nccpa REQUIRES you to do 100 hrs every 2 years and to retest every ten years. most pas mirror the cme habits of the docs they work with; same magazines, same conferences, etc.
employers provide cme funds. 1500-2500/yr is typical. you are responsible for figuring out how to spend it.

Thank you emedpa! Do you have any favorite magazines/websites, etc.? I would just like to read a bit and become familiar with the type of literature PAs read post graduation.
